New Bruce Springsteen Movie Sets Official Premiere Date – And Fans of the Boss Couldn't Be Happier originally appeared on Parade.
In a year packed with exciting new movies, it's fair to say that the new Bruce Springsteen biographical drama, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, might very well be one of the most anticipated movies of 2025.
Directed by Crazy Heart and Black Mass filmmaker Scott Cooper, the upcoming film sees The Bear star Jeremy Allen White step into the role of the iconic rock and roll musician, focusing on his peak years in the early '80s working on his best-selling album, Nebraska.
With the movie set to debut in nationwide theaters on October 24, many casual viewers and dedicated music fans alike have expressed their excitement at the brand-new musical biopic.
And if that weren't exciting enough, Deliver Me From Nowhere has officially set its premiere date for September 28 at this year's upcoming New York Film Festival.
Additionally, attending the premiere in person will be none other than the Boss himself, who has been actively supporting the movie and White's performance as the legendary musician.
The film joins several other notable releases set to premiere at the NYFF, including the Julia Roberts-led thriller After the Hunt, the comedic anthology Father Mother Sister Brother and Bradley Cooper's new comedy, Is This Thing On?
Reflecting on his film's premiere at the film festival, Cooper spoke how unique an experience it is to take Deliver Me From Nowhere to New York, referring to it as a wondrous dream come true, of sorts.
“The New York Film Festival has always felt like a spiritual home for the kind of cinema I believe in,” the director said. “To now arrive with a film about Bruce Springsteen — an artist whose music shaped not just a country but my own sense of storytelling — is something I could never have imagined."
“Taking its cue from the stark majesty of Bruce Springsteen’s classic album Nebraska, Scott Cooper’s Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere has an intimacy and immediacy that eludes most film biographies,” said New York Film Festival Artistic Director, Dennis Lim. “Anchored by Jeremy Allen White’s revelatory performance, this year’s Spotlight Gala selection is a fitting tribute to a living legend.”
