Ever since she shot to fame in the ‘00s, Carrie Underwood has been a blonde.
In fact, when asked if she’d ever rock a different hair color during a 2012 interview, the American Idol judge admitted that she didn’t want to “shock people” by going brunette.

“I’d love to do a little more with hair color. I've always been blonde! The problem is, I don't want to shock people. Like if I dyed my hair brown, I don't want people to think I'm turning dark and serious,” she said.
Well, it looks like those days are now long gone, with Carrie revealing in a new Instagram post that she’s going back to her natural hair color for the first time in three decades!

Carrie, 42, wrote alongside some photos of her new darker hair, “Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance. Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me get back to my roots! #NewOldMe #Bronde.”

And it’s safe to say that people are obsessed. “Yaaass love this color,” one comment read. Another user simply wrote, “WOW.”
“YASS!! I wish more women would embrace their more natural color! It looks great,” someone said, while another person commented, “I absolutely love it.” “This looks so good on you!” one more comment read.
