A comment from Jana Kramer's daughter recently hit the singer harder than she thought it would.

During an episode of her podcast Whine Down with Jana Kramer, the singer and actress, 41, spoke about a recent fight she'd gotten in with her 7-year-old daughter Jolie that caused her to get a little emotional. Kramer started by saying she was ready for her kids to go back to school, especially since they've been a little sick recently.

"The night before we filmed one of the days, Jace came in [to my room] at 1, 2, 3, Jolie came in at 4. And I was like, but of course, you know, you gotta mother them, and that was another reason why I was so tired that day on set," Kramer explained. "But so they've been kinda sick. And so on Sunday, I went up there and I'm like, okay. I knocked on the door because Jolie was watching TV."

After knocking on the door, Kramer said she pretended to be "doctor mom" instead of just being regular "mom."

"And I said, 'Oh, that's so sweet. I'm not your mom.' And I was like, 'But that's so sweet that you think that. And I was like, so what are your symptoms?' And she's like, 'You know my symptoms,' " she explained. "And I'm like, 'But I don't know your symptoms.' I was like, '[What] are you feeling?' I'm like, 'I've got a Rolodex of supplements.' Like, it's a little turn thing. And she goes, 'You're so annoying.'"

"But the way she said it," she continued. "Like, really? It hurt."

Kramer said she turned around and went to give her daughter Motrin before leaving her room and walking downstairs.

"And she kinda like looked at me like, 'I'm sorry,' " the mom of three said. "I was like, 'No no no. It's fine. Like, it's fine. All good.' And I came downstairs and I started crying. And I was like, what's wrong? I was like, 'I'm officially the annoying mom. And it sucks.'"

She explained that all she wanted to do was play make-believe and pretend she was a doctor, but her daughter didn't want to do that anymore. "They're not like little kids anymore," she said of Jolie and her older son Jace, 6.

Kramer said that the next day, she told her daughter that her comment had hurt her feelings, but noted that she didn't want Jolie to have to tiptoe around her feelings.

"The next day I said, 'Hey. You know what, baby girl?' I said, 'It did actually hurt Mommy's feelings when you called me annoying,'" she explained. "I said, 'I was just really just trying to have fun with you, baby girl.' And she's like, 'I know I'm sorry, Mom.'"

"But I also don't want her to feel like she has to watch my emotions," Kramer continued. "But also your reaction, like what you said actually did hurt Mommy. So I'm like, I don't know. But then I'm like, well, I don't want her to feel [bad]."
